How to strengthen fleet security with 3Dtracking and Queclink’s CV100LG dual-lens video solution

When an incident happens on the road or inside a vehicle, how quickly can your clients find out what happened?

We’ve integrated Queclink's CV100LG dual-lens camera with the 3Dtracking platform to bring video monitoring and vehicle tracking together and give your clients greater control over fleet security. It's another addition to our range of solutions designed to make fleet security easier.

Features of the Queclink CV100LG

The compact CV100LG device captures and transmits high-definition video and images from both road-facing and driver-facing cameras. With features including motion detection and night vision, it helps fleet operators capture important events and gain better visibility into what happens on the road and inside their vehicles, so they can protect both vehicles and drivers.

The device’s features include:

  • 4G LTE connectivity: Supports LTE Cat 4 for real-time video streaming and fast video uploads.

  • Flexible installation: Multiple mounting options and a specialized bracket allow deployment across different vehicle models.

  • Dual-lens recording: Road-facing and driver-facing cameras with a wide field of view capture activity both outside and inside the vehicle.

  • Multiple recording modes: Includes event-based recording to capture footage of important incidents.

  • Bluetooth connectivity: BLE 4.1 supports connections to up to 10 Queclink BLE Key Fobs for driver authentication and SOS functionality.

  • Wi-Fi connectivity: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi supports access point and station modes, allowing in-cab hotspot sharing and connections to existing Wi-Fi networks.

Real world applications for your clients

The CV100LG integration supports several everyday fleet management needs:

  • Insurance claims: Access footage and images of incidents to provide supporting evidence during claim investigations and negotiations.

  • Driver training: Review recorded driving events to identify risky behaviors and provide more targeted coaching.

  • Passenger compartment monitoring: Use the interior-facing camera to monitor activity inside the vehicle.

  • Accident reporting: Retrieve footage and event information to help establish what happened before or during an incident.

How the 3Dtracking platform makes fleet security easier

A vehicle suddenly brakes harshly or experiences an impact. What happened? Was there a hazard on the road, or was the driver involved in an accident?

Instead of relying on GPS data alone, your clients can use video footage from the Queclink CV100LG alongside vehicle event information in the 3Dtracking platform to investigate. When predefined events occur, the camera automatically starts recording and sends event information to the platform over a cellular connection.

Your clients can use this solution to:

  • Monitor harsh driving events: Access video clips and image snapshots linked to driving events, providing additional context when investigating unsafe driving behavior.

  • Improve parked vehicle security: Use parking safeguard functionality to automatically upload video footage and image snapshots when a parked vehicle experiences an impact.

  • Access recorded footage: View and download video clips and images stored in the platform's Media section for a selected vehicle and trip period.

  • Stream live video: Access real-time footage directly through the 3Dtracking platform for immediate visibility into vehicle activity.

Why reliable hardware integration matters for fleet security

When a security incident occurs, fleet operators need accurate information to understand what happened and respond appropriately. Missing footage, unreliable event data, or delays in receiving information just make it harder to investigate incidents.

That's why a seamless connection between camera hardware and the telematics platform is so crucial. By working closely with manufacturers like Queclink, 3Dtracking helps ensure that video footage, images, and vehicle events can be captured, transmitted, and accessed reliably, so your clients get the visibility and data they need to take action, more easily.

As Roydon Michael, our CEO, explains:

Bad data in, bad data out" rings very true in our world of fleet management.

Whether a telematics platform like ours delivers meaningful insights and adds value largely depends on the reliability and quality of the data fed into the system from a physical device. So, a lot needs to be done to ensure the best marriage of hardware and platform.

The tools to clean up incoming data are much more powerful today than they were 20 years ago. The modern computing environment, for example, meant we could develop fuel-smoothing algorithms to iron out the peaks and troughs in fuel levels, plus a convoy monitoring solution that accounts for inaccurate or mistimed GPS reporting across an entire convoy. I could go on.

A deep relationship with hardware manufacturers is also critical to a successful integration. It gives us line of sight over new hardware developments before they hit the market, so we can start adding value to our fleet partners as quickly and easily as possible.

We want to empower them to thrive. Integrating with leading hardware is just one of the ways we do that.
