A telematics platform is not effective or sustainable without rigorous data security protocols in place. With more than 535,000 units hosted on the 3Dtracking platform and unlimited tracking history stored, the volume of information moving through our systems is significant.
Protecting that information has always been a core responsibility of ours. Because making fleet management easier also means giving our partners a platform they can depend on to handle their information responsibly.
“It is not the end goal to be certified,” says Roydon Michael, CEO. “Rather, it's a confirmation that the way we behave helps ensure our data (and our partners' data) is safe. It's up to all of us to keep behaving in this way to ensure it stays safe.”
About the ISO 27001 Management Standard
ISO 27001 is one of the most stringent international standards for information security management. Not every company earns this prestigious mark of trust, nor is it a once-off checklist item that we now consider complete.
As part of the ongoing audit process, an assessor will conduct two external annual visits to our head office. The purpose of these visits is to ensure our compliance is consistently assessed to the correct level, and involves continually improving and growing our management system/s and executing the annual recertification audit.
What this means for you
Protecting your data has been a fundamental part of how 3Dtracking operates since 2005. That has not changed.
ISO 27001 certification reflects our 21-year commitment to treating information security with the seriousness it deserves. More importantly, it confirms that we have the systems, processes, and discipline in place to back up that commitment and protect the information entrusted to us.
For our partners, that means less uncertainty around one of the most important parts of choosing and relying on a technology provider.
In the words of our CTO:
“Certification isn't a finish line - it's a commitment we now uphold together every day.” - Daryl Sconborn, CTO of 3Dtracking.
How this certification benefits your clients
Security questions are a standard part of sales conversations, tenders, and supplier reviews. Our ISO 27001 certification gives you a clear, credible answer when clients ask how the platform supporting their data is secured, helping take some of the friction out of security reviews, tenders, and sales conversations.
It gives your clients:
-
Greater reassurance around how their data is handled.
-
Added confidence during supplier and security reviews.
-
Clear evidence that security risks are actively managed.
-
A stronger foundation for a long-term business relationship.
We’ve made it easier for you to move security conversations forward with evidence, rather than relying on promises alone.
Frequently asked questions
What is ISO 27001?
To quote from their official website: “The ISO/IEC 27001 standard provides companies of any size and from all sectors of activity with guidance for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system.”
What was assessed during the certification process?
An independent auditor assessed our information security management systems, including how we identify and manage risks, protect data, control access, and respond to incidents.
Does this change how users use the 3Dtracking platform?
No. Partners and their clients can continue using the 3Dtracking platform as usual, with no changes required to their day-to-day processes. The certification reflects the formal security controls, risk management processes, and ongoing monitoring we have in place behind the scenes to protect information across our business.
